I am also the Vice Chair of Governors, the Chair of the Finance and Resources Committee, as well as being the SEN Governor responsible for monitoring this area within the school working together with the SENCo.
My main reason for becoming a school governor was my interest in children’s education and I believe that the experience that I have gained in my working life will be a great asset to the school.
I have been a Governor at Uphall Primary School since 2003 Prior to this during my working career I was a Headteacher for a primary school in Newham for 13 years.

I have lived in Redbridge for 4 years and I am presently employed as a High Needs Project Accountant for the London Borough of Redbridge.
I joined Uphall Primary school Governing Body as a Co-Opted Governor in November 2017 and I am part of the Learning Committee.
I have always had an interest in children’s education and I have been working in Education Finance for over 15 years. I have a vested interest in seeing all children achieve, and I derive great pleasure from the opportunity I gain to making a contribution to the future of all children.
The school community may know me by name and I may well have taught some of your children. I have been a teacher at Uphall Primary School for 10 years and joined the governing body in 2015 My term of office is for 3 years .
I am passionate about the educational standards of children. I feel that a good education is something that no one can take away from you. It gives our children the right skills and confidence to meet life’s challenges. Professionally I have worked in education for 11 years and have been a governor at my son’s school. Joining Uphall Governing Body I feel that I can contribute not only my skills and knowledge but my open mind, and not being afraid to speak out to ensure that views are heard in a fair and constructive environment. I have responsibilities in school for IT and am currently the Phase Leader for Years 1 & 2.
I am a Senior Manager within higher education and a local resident to Uphall Primary school. I bring to the Governing Body a wealth of expertise in strategic development, project management, leadership and high level negotiating skills. I have a keen interest in business change management, improving efficiency, strategic communication, risk management and cost cutting strategies.
I hope to bring an informed perspective to the discussions and decisions that we make to help our students perform at their very best, be happy and enjoy learning. Uphall Primary school has great potential. We must ensure we improve standards of achievement across all areas of the curriculum and that mediocrity is not an option.
Hi – I am Nida Sethi and I have been elected as a Parent governor at Uphall Primary school since July 2018. It is an opportunity I am really looking forward to.
I have many interests and my children keep me very busy. I am looking forward to this opportunity to be part of both my children and the school’s vision and ethos. Teaching and Learning is to me one of the most important thing for any child to feel comfortable with and to be able to continue their journey through life feeling empowered by their knowledge.
I am proud that my children attend Uphall Primary school and am excited about the prospect of contributing to the school’s continued progress. Our children’s education and overall experience is, I believe, fundamental to their development and I am honoured to join the governing body team that seeks the best for its pupils and staff.
My commitment to the role is unwavering.
