The school community may know me by name and I may well have taught some of your children. I have been a teacher at Uphall Primary School for 10 years and joined the governing body in 2015 My term of office is for 3 years .

I am passionate about the educational standards of children.  I feel that a good education is something that no one can take away from you.  It gives our children the right skills and confidence to meet life’s challenges.  Professionally I have worked in education for 11 years and have been a governor at my son’s school.  Joining Uphall Governing Body I feel that I can contribute not only my skills and knowledge but my open mind, and not being afraid to speak out to ensure that views are heard in a fair and constructive environment.  I have responsibilities in school for IT and am currently the Phase Leader for Years 1 & 2.

I have worked here at Uphall Primary School since 2005 working as a Learning Teaching Assistant.

I was appointed originally as a Support Staff Governor after being voted for by election amongst the school staff.  My term of office currently is for 3 years following on from the reconstitution in February 2015, and I welcomed the opportunity to continue in my role.

I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute and participate in the partnership between parents and teachers as well as the children themselves and I believe that the more involvement parents have in their children’s education the higher the standard can be.  I enjoy the role and it has enabled me to see the school from many more angles and appreciate much of what is needed to maintain the current standard and improve the school further.

I am also the link governor for Attendance.

I enjoy keeping fit, reading and spending time with my family.
